Downloadable Resources for Second Week Intro to Hebrew Students

Shalom Hebrew Students,

Good job tonight in class; you are improving!  Remember: READ, WRITE, and SPEAK the consonants as you memorize the alef-bet.

Here is the My Hebrew Name website link: http://www.my-hebrew-name.com/
And here is the link to the downloadable Intro to Hebrew Workbook: http://tinyurl.com/pzshenl
Look for more downloadable resources at my blog: introtohebrew.com

To prepare for class next week:
1. Do your best to memorize the entire alef-bet so we can move on to the vowels.
2. Use the Alef-Bet chart to spell your name phonetically in Hebrew.
3. Go to the website My Hebrew Name http://www.my-hebrew-name.com/ and find your name in Hebrew.  Optional: For fun, look up the meaning of your Hebrew name.

Conversational Hebrew Worksheets (Homework): UPDATED for clarity

Shalom Hebrew Students,

We worked on some worksheets in class tonight.  Review or complete them during the week.  We will be reviewing them in class next Tuesday.  Try not to look up the answers!  Read the words aloud as you write them, and say them aloud as you read them.  For the writing worksheet, you may refer to the vocabulary chart for the correct spelling.

Sneak Preview: we’ll be doing a bit of acting in future classes.

Conversational Hebrew Class Surprises!

Shalom Everyone,

Steve will be joining us at Hebrew class this Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  He is able to stay in town a bit longer than he had anticipated.  YAY!

As usual, we’ll start by having a bite to eat (bring something to share or brown bag your own), then we’ll practice a dance for Passover, and finally, we’ll settle in for Hebrew class.  A little birdie told me we may also be treated to a worship song by Tom & Lynne this week!

Note: I’ve edited the vocabulary chart (I had earlier neglected to list the final two pronouns Hem and Hen).  Remember to read, speak, and write each word.  You can use the sheet like a flash card simply by covering up the translations.

Contact us for class location information.

See you this Tuesday!

Final Conversational Hebrew Class

Figure44

For our final week of Conversational Hebrew class with Steve, we will be meeting at my place. Blanca has graciously offered to cook a grilled chicken salad, yum! I will bring bread, and maybe a surprise dish or dessert. Please bring something to share if you plan to eat with us.

I think I speak for all of us in saying how much I appreciate Steve for taking us beyond the “nuts & bolts” of Hebrew, beyond the alef-bet and vowels, to writing script and learning singular and plural verbs. To give Steve a good send-off, I will teach you a fun dance after class (don’t worry, it’s easy, either I or Jacob will help you).

Passover details to come . . .

Conversational Hebrew Class

Conversational Hebrew class tomorrow at Tom & Lynne’s place at 6:00pm. Thanks to Lynne, there will be a bite to eat for those who can’t get dinner before class. I will bring a video of the Purim play to share. Email me for location details.
